Growth in tablets – overwhelmingly led by iPads – is the fastest measured for the adoption of any consumer appliance – EVER.

A recent presentation by Geoff Ramsey of eMarketer displayed the growth in the number of tablet computers from 2010 to 2012.  Tablets, along the lines of the iPad, will grow by over 5X from 2010, the year Apple introduced the iPad, to 2012.  Tablets are primarily used to wirelessly access the internet.
